A boat ticket and a visitor reservation can be different things.
Check access before the boat
The Malta Tourism Authority introduced a visitor booking system for people going ashore at the Blue Lagoon. Its announcement explains the reservation and QR-code process. Follow the booking link from the authority’s website and check the current arrangements before travelling.
Do not assume that buying a boat excursion automatically completes any separate visitor reservation. Ask the operator what the ticket includes and what you must arrange yourself. Save confirmations where you can access them without mobile reception.
Book the day you actually want
Compare departure point, total duration, time ashore and cancellation terms. A boat description can include several stops, so read the itinerary rather than assuming the whole excursion is spent at the lagoon. Confirm the return departure and meeting point before you leave the vessel.
Take sun protection, water and footwear suitable for the terrain you intend to use. Follow local access restrictions and lifeguard or operator instructions. No photograph can tell you whether sea conditions are suitable on your day.
Keep a plan B
If the trip changes or is cancelled, a flexible mainland day is better than pressure to travel in poor conditions. Keep waste with you and leave natural features undisturbed.
- Check the official visitor reservation requirements.
- Confirm what the boat ticket includes.
- Read weather cancellation and refund terms.
- Save the return meeting point.
